Ethan Week 2- Soccer updates
What’s up to my soccer fans in this class (might only be one other person)! I wanted to give some soccer updates and get some feedback on what you guys think about some of the recent news. First, we have to talk about Cristiano Ronaldo going back to his home club, Manchester United, and scoring two incredible goals on his debut. At age 36 he is still scoring goals, which is absolutely incredible and just proves why he is the greatest ever! Does anyone think Messi is the Goat (P.S. You are wrong)?
Next, Erling Haaland is an absolute machine and I consider him to be the best player in the world right now. While many say his PSG counterpart, Kylian Mbappe, is the best currently because he is the more technical player, I still think Haaland will end up having more goals and assists as he is a more deadly and consistent finisher. Additionally, Haaland’s hunger to win and score goals is absolutely incredible: After scoring a hattrick for Norway in a recent World Cup qualifier game, he said in a post-game press conference that “[he] does not score enough” and is not satisfied with his performances. Do you think Mbappe is better than him?
Finally, Lionel Messi, the second GOAT, has transferred from Barcelona to PSG and is back with his best friend Neymar. He just had his debut coming off of the bench, which was surprising. PSG’s attack now includes Mbappe, Messi, Neymar, Benzema, Di Maria, Moise Kean, and more. Their current lineup is absolutely ridiculous and I believe PSG, Man U, and Man City are the top contenders in the world coming into the new season. Does anyone think there is another top team?
Hi Ethan, it is interesting to see your soccer expertise in action. I don't really have any feedback except for the fact that I only just realized that Messi is playing with Neymar on PSG after you mentioned it. I don't really understand why there are separate leagues in soccer...why not just have everyone play in one league? Well, I guess that MLS is not the same level as some of the European leagues, but why not join a few leagues together to make a mega league. Just my personal suggestion. Also, I've never heard of Haaland, but it seems like he's the next GOAT from what you've mentioned of him. Thanks for the soccer news update!
ReplyDeleteFeels like this may have been directed at me lol. It's been crazy man! I loved seeing Ronaldo go back to United, that's so much better than Man City. Also, I think I agree with you on your Haaland take. He plays in a harder league than Mbappe and has consistently produced equal - and better - stats than Mbappe. Finally, it's just so crazy to see Messi in a new jersey, just like when we saw Ronaldo in a Juventus shirt for the first time a couple years ago. BTW Benzema doesn't play for PSG, he still plays for Real Madrid.
